American Free Enterprise Day
American Free Enterprise Day (AFE) is a Palm Beach Atlantic tradition, dating back to 1984. It is highlighted by a medal ceremony that honors individuals whose hard work and achievement exemplify the best of the American free enterprise system. A primary honoree, or medalist, is chosen each year along with companion honorees from the world of business.
President Distinguished Scholar Lecture Series
The President Distinguished Scholar Lecture Series brings to campus a prominent academic figure each year. Former scholars include George Marsden (American Evangelicalism), Dr. Eleonore Stump (philosophy), and Dr. Henry F. Schaefer III (chemistry).
Freidheim Fellows Program
The LeMieux Center for Public Policy annually offers an independent study program to two PBA upperclassmen. Freidheim Fellows concentrate their study on a topic of great public importance that culminates in a year-end published paper. Fellows work directly with former U.S. Senator George LeMieux to select, rigorously research, and prepare the topic for publication and presentation.
LeMieux Center Lecture Series
The LeMieux Center for Public Policy hosts an on-campus lecture series featuring notable speakers on issues of public policy and servant leadership. The forums provide the PBA community and the public the opportunity to engage with state and national officials, journalists, authors, academics, and other notable thought leaders on important issues. Previous speakers include Editor-in-Chief of Forbes magazine, Steve Forbes, Pulitzer-Prize-winning conservative political commentator George Will, former speech writer for Presidents Reagan and George H.W. Bush Peggy Noonan, and former Florida governor Bob Graham.
School Speaker Series
The Catherine T. MacArthur School hosts a speaker series featuring established leaders within our national community such as best-selling author and inspirational speaker Dr. John Stahl-Wert and professor of biblical theology of leadership at Bethel University Dr. Mark McCloskey.
Interdisciplinary Research Conference
The Interdisciplinary Research Conference was developed to recognize the scholarship of students and faculty in all disciplines. It provides our undergraduate and graduate students and faculty with the opportunity to present their scholarly work to the campus community.
